About

Commentary for a noisy world.

Truth Takes exists to help believers think clearly and live faithfully — with Scripture as the foundation, facts handled with care, and a tone that prefers light over heat. We want writing that magnifies Jesus, strengthens discernment, and builds up the Church.

Short version: Exploring faith, life, and culture with Scripture as our guide.

Truth, spoken with love, for maturity in Christ

Anchoring verse

Ephesians 4:14–15 (NIV)

14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Bible-first

Scripture is not decoration. It is the foundation and the final authority for what we publish.

Truth with clarity

We encourage intellectual honesty and careful sourcing. Claims should be supported, not amplified for effect.

Light over heat

We reject outrage bait. Tone matters. We aim for conviction without contempt.

What Truth Takes is

  • • A home for faithful voices. Everyday believers, pastors, and practitioners bringing Scripture to bear on real questions.
  • • A bridge between Bible and life. Posts wrestle with marriage, culture, money, politics, work, technology, parenting, and more — all through a biblical lens.
  • • A curated publishing institution. Contributors apply, are approved, and are accountable for what they write. We want credibility that transfers — writing you’d be proud to share with your church community.

What we're not

  • • Not a replacement for the local church.
  • • Not an official statement for any denomination.
  • • Not a place for anonymous attacks or drive-by arguments.
  • • Not a “Bible verse slapped on top of my opinion” platform.
  • • Not a dopamine engine optimized for outrage.

How Truth Takes works

  1. Contributors apply. We look for love for Christ, faithfulness to Scripture, and a teachable, gracious tone.
  2. Posts are drafted. Writers aim for Bible-first, source-aware clarity — not performance or provocation.
  3. Review happens. We check for clarity, theology, tone, and basic factual handling. This is editorial partnership.
  4. Readers engage thoughtfully. Read, save, follow, and discuss — without the outrage machine.

Our guiding principles

Not a full statement of faith, but how we approach content.

1. Scripture over sentiment

We believe the Bible is God's Word and the final authority. Feelings matter, but they don't get the last word.

2. Truth and grace together

Jesus came “full of grace and truth.” We aim for the same — neither harsh truth nor empty niceness.

3. Intellectual honesty

We want contributors to handle sources carefully, represent opposing views fairly, and admit complexity where it exists.

4. Deep discipleship, not doomscrolling

Instead of endless rage, we want reflection that pushes you toward Christ and wise action.

5. Humility and accountability

No one gets everything right. We're open to correction and willing to clarify or adjust where needed.

6. Love for Christ's church

We want to strengthen local churches, not replace them. When in doubt: talk with your pastors and elders.

If you're a reader…

Truth Takes is designed to be a place you can return to when you're tired of outrage, but still want to think deeply and biblically.

  • • Browse topics that intersect with your real life.
  • • Save posts that are especially helpful or challenging.
  • • Follow contributors whose voice and rigor you trust.
  • • Join the comments to sharpen and encourage others.

If you're a potential contributor…

We're looking for writers who love the Lord, love His Word, and are willing to be sharpened — not performers chasing clicks.

  • • You don't have to be a professional author or pastor.
  • • You should be active in a local church.
  • • You must be willing to be edited for clarity and tone.
  • • You should handle disagreement with grace and precision.

A few quick questions we expect

Is this an official church or denomination site?

No. Truth Takes is a curated platform for individual contributors. Posts represent the views of the contributors, not an official denominational body. However, we do expect all content to be broadly in line with historic, orthodox Christian belief.

Should I treat this as spiritual authority?

We hope posts are helpful, but they are not a replacement for Scripture, your local church, or wise counselors in your real life. Take what is helpful, compare it with God's Word, and talk with trusted leaders.

How do you handle content that seems off?

Posts and comments can be flagged for review. Admins may edit, clarify, unpublish, or follow up with contributors as needed. We take both truth and unity seriously.
